What Does ‘Customer Service’ Mean To You?

Customer Service is a term bandied about a lot these days, with most organizations attempting to convince you that their service is better than the other guy.

I believe in Customer Service, in treating the customer as you would be treated – sort of a modified ‘Golden Rule‘!

The last fourteen years of my working existence were spent with UCSC and everything I did was with Customer Service in mind. No matter what my working title was at UCSC – or for that matter at Fairchild; Ampex; Digital Equipment; Xerox; or… – it always meant serving my customer, whether internal or external.

Fathers Day – June 19, 2011

Hey Dad! I hope you are enjoying Fathers Day with family and friends.

Having my father pass away at a very early age, there is much I couldn’t learn from him. At the time of his passing, an uncle tried to step in and provide guidance to my brother and I. He was a good man,

Unfortunately, he also passed shortly thereafter, giving my brother and I sort of double shock.

So mom picked up the pieces and did the best she could with the circumstances given her.

And she did very well – we turned out pretty good! Still I wish we could have gotten to know dad better.

So relish the time you have with your dad and other loved ones, for you never know when they will have finished their work and depart.

* A Very Happy Father’s Day To All *

PS: Lost my Internet connection so didn’t post till Monday

Can We Do More With Less?

In today’s age of consumption, of grabbing everything we can – the biggest; the best; the most expensive; the newest; the…; can we do more with less?

If we examine our individual lifestyles we might just be shocked at what we see regarding our real needs, wants and desires. When I look around me I see things I didn’t need but just wanted – isn’t advertising wunnerful to us!. When the newness wore off the ‘thing’ was set aside to be used only sparingly or not again!

I love little tools. When I go to a hardware store the first thing I look at is the grab box area with all the little gee gaws. Almost without exception I grab something I don’t really need (maybe some day I’ll need it – right?). I have so many little boxes of tools, I could probably start selling them and retire.

And sometimes you may find that not buying something causes you to lookl for better ways to do what you want.

So take some time every so often and ask yourself if y ou really need what you’ve got you eyes on or can you do more with less.

Watch ‘StumbleUpon’s Get Your Video Discovered Contest’ first place prize winner: dmass, net‘s”Design Matters: Doing Better with Less”. It might get you thinking about doing more with less.

Your thoughts?

What Heroes Do – Tornados

My definition of ‘Hero’s‘ have always been ‘those who do the right thing‘!

No, I cannot tell you what that ‘right thing‘ is. It is different in every situation. It is always a decision you make under what ever circumstances you are in or are facing, be it simple or complex. Your conscience is always your guide.

Here is one example of someone who is a ‘Hero‘ in my book!

Mothers Day And NASA

Mother’s Day is not just an annual American holiday but is celebrated in many countries around the world, It recognizes maternal bonds of motherhood and the role those bonds play in our life.

Mothers do so much for us, much of which goes unrecognized and/or unrewarded.

This is the one day of the year we can make up for the many times we should have said ‘Thank You’ for the many things a mother does for us. Read More→

Like Page Builder – A Quick Review

Dave & John have come up with a number of different products in the past – this is one of the buy kamagra best. It’s called ‘Like Page Builder’.

Like Page Builder is a wonderfully simple tool that allows you to create Facebook fan/like pages in a matter of minutes. I have this product and here are some thoughts on it.

First and foremost a fan/like page is pretty much like your own little mini website displayed on Facebook where you can promote yourself and your products to anyone who ‘likes’ your page.

The Royal Wedding

Well, did you have a chance to watch it? Or did you not care?
The Royal Wedding

I am not one to watch these things, preferring to see the snippets kamagra online on the various news channels. Besides I had some family stuff to attend to.

From what I have seen of these two, it appears they are pretty classy and down to earth folks and I think they will bring something special to the Royals.

Advertising Isn’t

Advertising, the lifeblood of our economy – or so the ad agencies would like you to believe. But is it really? My take on the subject: Advertising doesn’t really sell you anything, it just entertains you

Let’s take a little step back in time. To something called ‘drive-ins’ – here I go dating myself again!

The American Drive-In Movie Theatre

For the uninitiated, drive-ins were places you went to view movies in an outdoor setting, on a giant screen. A place to meet, greet and brag on a warm summer evening. Some were single screen, some multiple screen and you generally had a double feature. Before the show and during the intermission they ran snack bar advertising – ‘…come get your hot dogs, popcorn, candy and soda pop, etc.‘.
